Just One of Those Days

The steel cut oats boiled over this morning leaving a gooey mess on the stovetop.  The dog threw up at my feet as I frowned over the oatmeal.  The outdoor thermometer shows it is 18 degrees and the dog needs to go out.  The undecorated Christmas tree looms in my peripheral vision reminding me that it needs some decorations.  The flour bag fell off the shelf, broke and there is flour all over my pantry room floor.  Knitting?  Three hats, three pairs of mittens and all must be knit in the next three weeks.  A quilt sandwich must be put together so I can start quilting by hand my daughter’s Christmas quilt.  So, what is a girl to do?

I’m thinking it is time for tea.

I own three teapots and this is the one I use the most frequently.

It still needs a hand-knit tea cozy however, it is properly stained on the inside as a good teapot should be.

My all-time favorite tea.

( I’m so pleased to have found a tea shop in Colorado Springs that carries it so I no longer have to order it from Boston.)

I have plenty of spoons so please stop by and join me!  If you just so happen to be an elf, bring your job references.

  1. Sorry about all your problems this morning! I have never tried your favorite tea but I love your Royal Albert teacup and saucer which I also have.

As for post yesterday about LSU winning he championship, you are probably correct (sigh). My Georgial Bulldogs (13th in the standings vs. LSU as No 1)probably do not stand a chance -(sigh). My son received his doctorate from LSU so at least he will be happy – vbg.

  2. Elf? Job reference? LOVE IT ! You just put a big smile on my face after a really not so nice day. I think I will take a cup also. Thank you and enjoy your tea.
    Best, Birgitta

  3. Oh how I wish I could! T and I would love to visit you for tes and bring you a treat. I hope you were able to save some of your steel cut oats, they are delicious!!
One step at a time and you will get it all done!

  4. I love Harney’s tea so much. My faves are Vanilla Comoro and Hot Cinnamon Spice. But there are so many more I love. I haven’t tried Black Currant but I sure will now! I’d love to come for tea. I sure hope your day improved!

  5. I’ve found that tea solves just about every problem. And I love teapots – yours is lovely.

I’ve never tried the Black Currant tea – I might like it if it’s not too sweet-fruity tasting.

  6. I certainly would love to have tea from that lovely little pot of yours. Black Current Tea your favorite? I find it so interesting how many different varieties of tea can really be favorites. Mine is Earl Grey (with bergamot, *not* lavender) . But lately I’ve been just drinking Irish Breakfast, in a pint glass (just like it war a Guinness), and with a little honey and soy milk to take it to the top. It may in fact, be my favorite now.

Well, the flour was a real bummer, and the pup sick too. But the fact that it’s 18 degrees outside sounds very nice actually. Cozy up and decorate your tree 🙂 !
