On the eleventh day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me -Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
And while they were piping, I finished the front of my Alice Starmore INISHMAAN sweater as I watched hours and hours of LOST! I’ve loved knitting this sweater. The holiday knitting slowed me down on it and I’m anxious to pick it up again and work on it daily. And, that I will……in two days…when the Twelve Days of Christmas are over!
I also finished my left Cat Mitten. This mitten kept a smile on my face the whole time I was knitting it! I was a little concerned it was too small but was very pleasantly surprised to find that it is actually a perfect fit.
My apologies for the dark photos. The snow in the background messed with my shutter speed/aperture and I should have taken the time to adjust the settings but it was so very cold and I didn’t have a coat on.
The pattern is by Jorid Lindvik. She has some pretty amazing patterns so I’m sure there will be more mittens of hers appearing on my blog. The yarn I used is fingering weight which makes them very soft. I’ll give you more details after the right mitten is finished. I wonder if there is any way I can finish the second mitten before the end of The Twelve Days of UFOs? Probably not. I’ll go ahead and try because THAT is just how much fun these are!
My favorite part?
The paw pad and fish bone! Cute, isn’t it?
